Corporate History
The following provides a short history summarizing the growth of Environmental Enterprises from one of Cincinnati’s newest environmental service companies to a nationally recognized company providing turnkey environmental services to customers throughout the country.
1976
Birth of ENVIRONMENTAL ENTERPRISES
|
Environmental Enterprises, Inc. was incorporated in June of 1976 in the State of Ohio. For 30 years Environmental Enterprises has excelled in the Greater Cincinnati Region and State of Ohio as a leader in industrial and hazardous waste management.
|
1976
Birth of Field Services Division |
Environmental Enterprises' area of concentration has always included field services. For the first five years, Environmental Enterprises was involved in fairly large lagoon cleaning efforts and management of waste primarily for local companies. Our client list included the largest firms in Cincinnati, many of which we still service.
|
1977
ENVIRONMENTAL ENTERPRISES Opens Its Lab
|
Environmental Enterprises opened its analytical laboratory for environmental sample analysis. This lab continues to successfully operate as a commercial environmental laboratory.
|
1979
ENVIRONMENTAL ENTERPRISES Opens Its TSD |
Environmental Enterprises first began operating its TSD facility at the old Formica complex on Spring Grove Avenue in Cincinnati. This was done at the request of our clients to provide a central collection point in Cincinnati to facilitate shipments of waste materials. This facility quickly evolved into a full service facility for the storage, treatment and disposal of hazardous wastes. Specific treatment processes that were added include shredding aerosol cans of off-specification consumer commodities and the treatment of water reactive materials - primarily sodium metal. Neutralization, solidification and fuel blending were also being performed at the facility. |
1980
ENVIRONMENTAL ENTERPRISES Goes National |
Environmental Enterprises began expanding its operations over a wider geographical area, which now includes the entire continental United States. Environmental Enterprises has developed this business primarily through other waste management companies with both direct and indirect representation. |
1982
Creation of Lab Pack Division |
Environmental Enterprises began providing services for treating laboratory chemicals while other companies were landfilling these materials. Currently our Lab Pack Division provides services for hundreds of on-site, turnkey projects each year for universities, hospitals, and general industry. |
1987
Creation of Midwest Environmental Transport (MET) |
Environmental Enterprises incorporated a wholly owned subsidiary for the transportation of hazardous waste into its’ organization. Midwest Environmental Transport was established and is located on Crescentville Road adjacent to the corporate office. MET is responsible for the safe and timely shipment of hazardous materials for clients throughout continental United States. |
1988
Creation of Environmental Assessment Group
(EAG) |
Environmental Enterprises Industrial Hygiene Division was established to provide professional consulting services. In 1990, the professional consulting services of ENVIRONMENTAL ENTERPRISES were expanded. The division was renamed Environmental Assessment Group to encompass the added tasks of environmental audits. This group is comprised of environmental professionals including engineers, industrial hygienists, safety professionals, and field service professionals. Services provided by this group include asbestos evaluation, comprehensive industrial hygiene consultation, environmental audits, stationary source testing, and underground storage tank investigations. |
1993
ENVIRONMENTAL ENTERPRISES Goes International |
Environmental Enterprises managed approximately 14,000 tons of materials from approximately 1,200 different generators from the United States and Puerto Rico. |
